This year is big for BMW. BMW is marking 50 years of its M Division, and has a lot to celebrate. The first M3 Touring wagon was unveiled by the automaker earlier this week. BMW refers to the Hommage car that we mentioned last month. The new M model is allegedly a more powerful version of the CSL but with significant upgrades. According to the report, BMW would design the car with aerodynamics in mind. It could even contain active aero bits. BMW will not change the existing hard points beneath its new body
BMW will likely offer the M car yellow Matrix headlights and lightweight wheels as well as other adjustable bits like the anti-roll bars or shock absorbers. Although the car will look great, you should not expect any wild wings or side exit exhaust pipes.
Rumours claim that the new Hommage will produce 600 horsepower (447 Kilowatts) as well as 516 pound-feet (706 Newton-meters) in torque. BMW will send the power to the rear wheels via an eight-speed ZF transmission. All-wheel drive is not recommended as it will increase weight.
According to Hommage, the vehicle will be capable of traveling at 62 miles an hour (100 km per hour) in just 3.5 seconds. The Hommage won’t reach speeds of 200 mph (320 kph), but it will exceed speeds of 186 mph (307 kph), as the company is focusing on downforce and handling.
Each day brings us closer and closer to the new MHommage, with June fast approaching. It is expected that the car will go on sale in June for EUR600,000. However, it is unlikely that you will be able get one. BMW intends to make only 50 of these cars. This will be a great cap on a huge year for BMW.
