Honda S2000 users will soon have an online resource. Honda teased that the parts catalog for the iconic model will be available online in June. You can visit the site – it’s Japanese. Honda needs your help before you start looking at the intricate, exploded-view drawings of S2000 doors panels. Honda is asking owners to share their parts via social media.
Honda will begin collecting Facebook and Twitter comments with #S2000PartsCatalog attached from now through April 30, 2020. Honda wants to find parts customers like. Parts customers fear that Honda could run out of parts in the future. Honda will announce the results in May, one month before the catalog goes online, once it has collected all the posts.
This is a win-win situation for S2000 owners as well as fans. If there aren’t enough parts, it can be difficult to maintain and service out-of-production vehicles. Many automakers have made an effort to support their most loyal owners and followers over the past few years. Lamborghini and Land Rover are high-end brands that offer restoration services for existing owners. FCA is also interested in helping with the restoration of past models.
Japanese automakers are also trying to get into the restoration and service sector. Mazda unveiled a MX-5 Miata restoration programme in Japan in 2017. Mazda also announced that it would produce parts of the iconic sports car. After introducing a new model for 2020, Toyota plans to make parts for the Supra.
Honda S2000 owners who are eager to get their cars ready for spring will find it difficult to wait until June for the parts catalogue. Owners should have access to the parts catalog when they arrive.
