The wagon’s xDrive all wheel-drive system was a great help.
BMW unveiled the 2023 M3 touring earlier this week. This is the first official M3 wagon. The Duke of Richmond drove the M3 up the hillclimb course and showed it to the public. As he raced up the winding road, the rain didn’t stop the Duke.
The M3 Touring is powerful, but it also has an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission that transmits all that power to the xDrive all wheel-drive system. This is a nice feature to have in wet conditions. The turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 engine of the M3 produces 503 horsepower (375 Kilowatts) as well as 479 pound-feet (649 Newton meters) of torque. This is the only power output, BMW offers only the M3 Touring in Competition.
The BMW long-roofed BMW can travel at 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds, and can reach speeds of 174 mph (228 kph). This is only possible with the M Driver’s Package. The wagon’s top speed drops from 155 mph to 250 kph without it.
BMW teased the M3 Touring for the first time in 2020. It’s only now that it is officially available. Although it may seem long, BMW had to modify the 3 Series Touring to make the M3 wagon. The M3 touring is 3.3 inches longer than the and 3 inches wider . This is because BMW needed extra space to fit the new rear axle. The increased size does add weight but it’s a practical, new M car that isn’t a crossover.
The M3 Touring gets an extended dash-mounted screen, which houses both the infotainment screen as well as the driver display. The BMW iDrive 8 infotainment system is included. This is not available in the M3 sedan. If you are looking for the latest tech, the wagon will be your best option. However, it won’t work if the resident of America. Delivery will begin in December if you are located in the UK or Germany before moving to other markets.
The wagon won’t be available in the US, as Americans continue to choose crossovers, SUVs and trucks. It’s still exciting to see the M3 Touring wagon.
