eBay finds restored 1971 Fiat 500 brings la passione

This 1971 Fiat 500 Lusso, a beautiful example of classic Italian motoring, is only $10,000

You could buy a new Fiat 500 for just $14,995. But, the question is why? This restored original is up for grabs at eBay for only $10,000 . It looks straight out of the factory floor in Italy.

The original Fiat 500, introduced in 1957, was a huge success both in terms of sales and looks. The company sold over 3.8 million units in 18 years, making it the most popular supermini ever.

The new iteration would be unveiled by the company in 2007. It was a global version of the iconic Italian icon. It retained some of its charm but it didn’t have the same passione as the original. This is why this example is so unique.

This feisty 500 still has its original off-white exterior finish. There are a few minor blemishes or rust to be noted. According to the seller, the car was primarily imported from Italy during its entire life and is now in California. The interior is in excellent condition, with the original black leather seats and dash.

The car had its engine rebuilt, which included a new fuel tank, upgraded displacement and a new head gasket. The original four-speed manual gearbox is paired with the 650cc engine, which is claimed to return 75-plus MPG. The odometer shows a distance of 1,811 km (1,150 miles).

This is a great example of classic Italian motoring. The auction is only two days away, so hurry!
