Porsche 911 GTS Sounds Sensational At Autobahn Speeds

Porsche 911 GTS features brakes that are identical to the 911 Turbo, and lower sound deadening, for an engaging driving experience.

You dream of driving a Porsche 911 on Germany’s Autobahn at its maximum speed. This dream may seem impossible for many. But thanks to YouTube, we can still experience the sights and sounds of the Porsche 911 GTS from the comfort of our homes. AutoTopNL, a YouTuber, took the Python Green 992 Porsche 911 GTS up to the limits on the Autobahn. He decided to bring us along for the ride.

AutoTopNL was able to easily reach the Porsche 911 GTS’s top speed, 193mph (312km/h) during this Autobahn run. It is impressive to realize that this feat was possible in real life with unpredictable weather and hard pavement.

It’s easy to get caught up in the Porsche 911’s top-spec GT3 and Turbo models. However, there are some lesser-known gems in the Porsche 911 lineup like the GTS.

Porsche 911 GTS Sounds Sensational At Autobahn Speeds

As the Porsche 911 GTS, it is between the Porsche 911 Carrera S (top-performing normal 911) and the Porsche 911 Turbo. The Porsche 911 GTS is a completely new design that focuses on driver engagement, as opposed to the 911 Carrera S.

The Porsche 911 GTS is an engaging 911 thanks to its unique lowered suspension, retuned PAM settings, sports exhaust, lower sound deadening and higher engine power. As an option, the Porsche 911 GTS features larger brakes than the Porsche 911 Turbo and carbon ceramics.

A 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-6 powers the Porsche 911 GTS. This engine is exclusive to the GTS. The flat-6’s 473 horsepower (352 Kilowatts), and 420 lb/ft (570 Newton meters) of torque is what makes the Porsche 911 GTS so special. The new engine has 30 more horsepower (22 Newton meters) and 15 more torque (20 Newton meters) than the Carrera S. It is the Porsche 911 GTS, the most powerful 911 for drivers, other than the GT3 or Turbo.

Would you choose a Porsche 911 GTS instead of a Porsche 911 GT3?
