It’s possible to drive a car facing backwards, but it is pointless

This is all in the name science.

Tom Scott is a YouTuber, educator, game show host, and web developer. The most important thing to know about him? His amazing ideas. He is well-known for his YouTube videos, education, hosting of game shows, and web development. His videos cover a wide range of subjects including geography, history, science, technology, and Linguistics. His work is best suited to our free time, but his latest video ticks all the boxes for a true car enthusiast production.

It’s very easy. Sparkmate is a tech company capable of building almost anything. Scott contacted him and asked if there were any other ideas. The YouTube channel host popped up quickly with a question about an old children’s television program called Captain Scarlett and the Mysterons. This science fiction series focuses on the “war between nerves” between Earth, the Mysterons and a race called the Mysterons. They are a race made up of Martians with partial control over matter. There was also some amazing rig in that series.

One of the vehicles featured in the show was operated with both the driver and the passengers facing forwards, and looking at a television screen. Sparkmate designed a buggy with two seats facing forwards and a large television screen to test this idea. Tom Scott was curious if it is possible. The Xbox game controller controls steering, acceleration, and braking. There’s also a physical emergency brake, which is handy because it’s possible for anything to happen with this highly automated and robotic vehicle.

It works! Yes, the electric buggy can steer, accelerate, brake, and is controlled via Tom Scott’s game controller. Although it’s difficult to understand at higher speeds, everything works perfectly. Is it clear? It doesn’t make sense in all cases. It is, however, fun. It is a hundred percent.
