This update is the last major one for the model.
Volkswagen Arteon is getting another update so the German automaker can keep this big sedan in top shape. These spy photos reveal that the interior is getting a major overhaul thanks to the addition of a large tablet on its dashboard.
The biggest change is on the inside. The current Arteon has a 8-inch display. This one appears to be between 12 and 13 inches.
The development team also screws a panel around an instrument panel to hide any revisions. A cover is also placed over the center console, which indicates some design changes.
The equipment in the footwell and on the passenger side of a dashboard are blurred by the photographer. However, none of the equipment appears to be suitable for production.
The front of the Arteon has some placeholder elements at the headlights. These placeholder elements could be used to cover the future location for sensors for better driving assistance tech. This wagon’s exterior styling is unchanged.
According to Motor.es, the powertrains don’t change much. Some options may gain a mild-hybrid 48-volt system.
It is not known when the new Arteon will be available. Except for interior updates, the changes are not very significant. The 2022 model year is already available in the US.
The Arteon was launched in Europe in 2017. It made its North American debut in 2018. In 2020 , VW introduced a new version. Europe also received the wagon- and R-versions. Only the US received the new sedan.
This will be the last major upgrade to the Arteon. According to Motor.es, VW will not replace it at the end the model’s life.
VW sold 5,527 Arteon units in the United States in 2021. This was 53.7 percent more than the 3,602 deliveries made in 2020. The numbers for 2022 have not been very good. The volume of 47 samples was recorded in the first quarter. This was a drop of 96 percent from 1,099 deliveries in Q1-2021.
