Nissan X-Trail Adds Nismo Performance Package In Japan

It’s just a show.

We last spoke about the Nissan X-Trail earlier in the month ( Rogue, the United States), when it underwent a facelift to suit the European market. The exterior of the SUV was updated with self-driving technology and some interior upgrades. It’s now sportier thanks to the Nismo Performance Pack.

This is a visual pack with no mechanical upgrades, so don’t expect too much. It’s also only for Japan. The body is typical Nismo and comes in white with contrast black and red details such as the front and rear diffusers and the side skirts.

The radiator grille has been replaced with gloss black panels and a sportier bumper. A new lower bumper spoiler is now available with integrated parking sensors. It also features dual chrome exhaust pipes. The aggressive look is completed by a set of two-tone wheels and chrome handles.

You’ll find no noticeable changes inside the cabin. The flat-bottom steering knob is part of the newest upgrade for the X-Trail. There are no sports seats or pedals included in this package. The range-topping trims of the standard variant are actually better with the leather seats (pictured in gallery below).

The regular X-Trail is available in Europe with three engines: a 1.6-liter diesel engine with 130 horsepower (97 kilowatts), a diesel with 177 hp (128 kW), or a turbo gasoline engine with 163 hp (122 kW). A CVT and six-speed manual are also available.

Although the Nismo Performance Package only brings visual improvements, Japan’s performance division plans to offer a wider range of vehicles. This includes more than just performance cars. This is only the beginning.
