It was a technicality that cost her the win.
Twitter was in a frenzy earlier this week when a Wheel of Fortune contestant narrowly missed solving the final puzzle because of a technicality. Charlene Rubush would have won an AudiQ3 on Tuesday. However, she was too slow to give the correct answer. However, Audi has decided to gift Rubush an all-new 2021 Q3 in the spirit of the holidays. It is the season for giving and no matter how technical, we love to share some Audi magic and cheer.
Rubush correctly solved the final puzzle by choosing the correct word. Ironic. She paused too long between “right” or “word” to be able to win the prize, even though she correctly guess it before the time expired. Pat Sajak, the host, said that she only allowed for a short pause on the show. He then denied her the prize.
In an effort to correct the perceived wrong, Twitter users rallied behind the hashtag #GiveHerTheQ3 which caught Audi’s eye last night. In support of Rubush’s efforts, the company tweeted, “You are a winner in our eyes Charlene.” Let’s give you a prize, now.” The automaker also thanked Audi for their help in finding Rubush.
Rules are rules. But she was able to guess the correct answer within the time allowed, even though there was a pause in between the words. Audi claims it has been in touch with Rubush but doesn’t give a time frame for her receiving the new crossover. Rubush had already won $16,500, so a new Audi would be a great addition to her winnings.
