The specifications sheet that follows confirmed that the combined output was 670 horsepower.
The Mercedes AMG C43 sedan/wagon and the AMG C43 sedan were introduced at the end April. But the C63, which is hotter than the C43, is just around the corner. The flagship C-Class of the W206 generation, the C-Class C-Class, was actually hiding at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The prototype, which was in close to production, was completely camouflaged. Nevertheless, we were able to see the E Performance livery on the AMG One hypercar.
Consider the fuel cap located on the driver’s right rear fender. This fuel cap does not lead to a gasoline tank but to the charging port that charges the 6.1-kWh battery. The new C63 is a plug-in hybrid, unless you have been living under a rock the last few months. The C63 will also be losing its V8 and rear wheel-drive configuration in favor of a 2.0-liter engine with AWD.
The C43 looks more aggressive than it does because the C43 has no faux front air vents and instead uses functional ones with a larger lower intake opening. The angular exhaust tips are a replacement for the AMG Lite’s round ones and have a slightly larger diameter. The trunk lid spoiler isn’t larger, but it could be for the best.
The front fenders of the car look like faux vents. It also has some powerful brakes, with red calipers and 20-inch wheels covered in Michelin tires. It is evident that the AMG C63 is quite stiff due to its low position to the ground. This is similar to the C43.
According to the technical specifications sheet that was placed next to the car at Goodwood FoS, it will indeed have 670 horsepower (653 pound-feet) and 750 Newton-meters (553 pounds-feet), as previously reported. It will be powered by a longitudinally mounted, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine from the “45” cars. The transversally installed engine is connected to an electric motor at the rear. The smaller combustion engine weighs 107 pounds (48.5 kgs) less than the M177 V8 and the overall powertrain is lighter even after adding hybrid-related hardware.
In the next few months, the Mercedes-AMG C63 will be officially unveiled. The official debut of the new Mercedes-AMG C63 is expected to take place in the coming months. According to recent reports, the C63 Coupe and C63 convertible models won’t be available anymore. Instead, the two-door C63 Coupe models and E-Class models will be morphed into a CLUE lineup with AMG power.
