A new rendering of the Next-Gen BMW X3 reveals a sleek crossover design

It may not arrive before the model year 2024.

We saw the new-generation BMW X3 for the first time just over a week ago. The vehicle was covered in a camouflage wrap with some cladding. However, new renderings show that the wrap is being removed to reveal what the next-generation BMW X3 will look like once it goes on sale.

New renderings show a sleek crossover with a sophisticated design. The new renderings show a stylish crossover with a taller grille than the one found on the current model. It sits above a bold front bumper design that resembles the new X1. It is difficult to tell, but the new X3 may be slightly larger than what it replaces.

The interior has not been shown to us, nor have the renderings. We expect the X3 to adopt the same interior styling as the IX. This means that the crossover will have a dual-display screen at the front and BMW’s latest iDrive 8 software.

Although details about the powertrain are still unknown, BMW will offer a range of options, including pure EV and plug-in hybrid models. The X3M is expected to return with a hybrid powertrain. The current X3M packs a twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter straight-6 engine that produces 503 horsepower (375 kilowatts), and 479 poundfeet (649 Newton meters) in Competition spec. This can propel the SUV to 60 mph (13.6 kph).

The spy photos were our first glimpse at this new crossover. We doubt it will debut anytime soon. The model will not be revealed until at least one year. We also don’t believe it will go on sale before the 2024 model year. BMW has just updated the X3 to the 2022 model-year. The crossover gets new styling and more tech.
