Can the C8 Corvette beat the R8 or 911 on track?
The Audi R8 is a V10-powered Audi R8 that combines raw performance with luxury. It features a loud V10 and a leather-trimmed interior. Audi R8 used to be an all-wheel-drive model. However, the company recently introduced a rear-wheel drive option. The Audi R8 V10 RWD produces 532 horsepower (396kW) and 398 pound feet (540 nm), respectively, via a 7 Speed dual-clutch transmissionmated with a mechanical locking differential. The R8 V10 RWD weighs 143 pounds (65 kg) less than the R8 V10 Quattro coupe, making it a more agile track weapon.
The Porsche 911 992 Carrera S is next, and it comes with the PDK dual clutch automatic transmission. The Porsche 911 is the standard for sports cars and has been the benchmark that all other models have been measured against. The Porsche 992 Carrera is powered by a twin turbo 3.0-liter flat-6 that produces 443 horsepower (330 kW), and 390 lb/ft (528 nm). This is routed through an 8-speed PDK dual clutch transmission.
The C8 Corvette is finally here with a new mid engine layout. However, it retains the tradition of naturally aspirated V8 horsepower thanks to the powerful 6.2-liter LT2 motor which produces an impressive 490 hp (356 kW) and 465 lb/ft (630 Nm). Tremec developed an 8-speed dual clutch transmission to transmit power. This combination of modern technology, a mid-engine layout and classic American V8 power can it beat the best of Europe? Let’s see if we can find out.
