Finally, Lexus has gotten rid of the touchpad on the executive sedan.

Lexus has updated the ES interior with tech updates to the European market. This will keep the sedan’s midsize size sedan current for the 2023 model year. These enhancements will improve the overall experience inside the car and add convenience features to keep pace with modern times.

The Lexus ES 2023 builds on the updates from the 2022 model year. The updated multimedia system is said to improve response time, intuitive operation, and provide more functions. It features cloud-based navigation, better recognition of voice commands and wireless Apple CarPlay. Android smartphone users will need to use a wired connection.

The new cloud-based navigation will provide real-time road- and traffic information. This includes local fuel prices and parking. The “Hey Lexus”, on-board assistant, responds to audio commands and informal comments such as “I’m cold.”

Lexus also upgraded the car’s data communications module to allow the ES to connect to the internet. The ES can now use e-Care to remotely lock and unlock doors, operate hazard lights, adjust the air conditioner to their preferred settings, and more.

A revised center console is also available for the Lexus ES 2023. The touchpad is gone, replaced by a pair cupholders. You can also find the wireless charging tray outside of your console box. Both USB-A as well as USB-C ports are available. A new interior color option is available in Ammonite Sand.

A new ES F Sport Design trim is now available in Europe. It features a set 19-inch wheels, 10 exterior colors options, 4 interior options and F Sport Design badges at the fenders.

In August, the production of the 2023 Lexus ES is expected to begin. We have contacted Lexus USA to confirm that these updates will be made in the USA. Once we hear back from Lexus USA, we’ll update the story.
