There is no successor to the iconic model.
We are pleased to share virtual renderings from a future generation Mitsbusihi Lancer.
After the announcement by Mitsubishi that had been falsifying fuel economy testing data, dark clouds hang over the future. To solve the problem, the automaker will likely have to invest large financial resources. This will reduce funds for research and development. This could lead to new models being delayed or even cancellation of future projects.
We will not have a new generation of the legendary Lancer. Osamu Masuko, Mitsubishi CEO, stated late last year that there will not be a successor to the sedan because the manufacturer lacks the resources.
Masuko declared, “We are strong on SUVs and four wheel drives,” “And that’s what we want to concentrate on in the U.S. as core models.” We have changed our direction.”
Let’s pretend for a moment. The new Lancer will be available in 2018. It will sporty look and have stylish lines. This vehicle is shown in the attached renderings. These were created by Enoch Gabriel Gonzales, a Filipino designer who used Mitsubishi’s new design language “while keeping the Lancer’s iconic jet fighter grille.” It could be the perfect balance and transition between the current model’s look and the new one.
