With some major cosmetic changes, the mid-cycle refresh of the SX4 S-Cross can be seen in France’s capital.
Three years after the launch SX4 Scross, Suzuki has given its C-segment crossover an entirely new look with newly designed headlights featuring LEDs. If you choose the SZ-T trimlevel, this will be the third anniversary. The old model’s grille, which featured horizontal fins, has been replaced with a new one that features vertical slats. The ride height has been increased from 6.5 inches (165mil) to 7 inches (180mil) to make the crossover more capable on difficult terrain.
While the changes at the rear are not as important, Suzuki decided to make new graphics for the taillights using LEDs. This will give the SX4 S-Cross an updated appearance. The flagship SZ5 will be available to those who are willing to spend more for it. It comes with aluminum roof rails, a double sliding panoramic sunroof and a double sliding glass sunroof. Suzuki claims that this is the largest in its class.
The refreshed SX4 Scross cabin has leather upholstery and heated seats according to the SZ5 specification. All models in the range now have a better dashboard, with softer-feel materials.
Customers will be able order the updated version with the turbocharged 1.0 liter engine also found in the Baleno hatchback. The new engine has 111 horsepower (82kilowatts) as well as 125 pound-feet (170 Newton meters) of torque. This gives it an additional nine percent torque over its predecessor, the 1.6-liter gasoline engine. The combined cycle’s fuel economy has been increased by 10%, and CO2 emissions have fallen by 11%.
Suzuki will gladly sell the 2017 SX4 S-Cross if you need more power under the hood. It comes with the beefier 1.4-liter Boosterjet that was first introduced in the Vitara S . The engine produces 140 horsepower (103 kW) or 162 lbft (220 Nm). This represents a 17% increase in horsepower and a 41% increase in torque over the 1.6-liter version. The new turbo 1.4-liter engine has reduced fuel consumption by 4 per cent. The 1.6-liter DDiS Turbodiesel engine is for you if torque is your top priority. The engine produces 236 lbft (320 Nm), and it has 120 horsepower (88 kW) available.
All three engines can be connected to Suzuki’s Allgrip all wheel drive system. However, only the SZ5 and SZ5 trims allow for this. The Vitara also has the AWD setup, which can be used with either the manual or automatic transmissions.
Suzuki claims that it will start selling the 2017 SX4 S-Cross starting October 17, and that it expects to sell approximately 5,000 units by 2017.
