2019 Mazda Mazdaspeed3 render Is the Hot Hatch We Are Not Getting

It’s exciting to imagine that a Mazda3 hot hatch might be possible.

The 2019 Mazda3 looks stunning in this segment. Now, XTomi Design has created a rendering of what a fast Mazdaspeed3 (known as the MPS in some markets) would look like. The hatchback is already a stylish hot hatch.

X-Tomi Design features a sporty front fascia that has inlets at the corners to send cool air to the brakes. Red calipers and larger turbine-style wheels add style and improve handling. Black mirror caps and a black roof are other stealthy aesthetic improvements. Attaches to the roof is a low-profile spoiler.

Although this render is great, you shouldn’t expect to see a Mazdaspeed3 new on the market any time soon. Akira Marumoto, the company’s global boss, stated in 2018 that “We aren’t planning for MPS in future.” During the interview, Marumoto also indicated that the RX Vision was not going into production.

In March, the new Mazda3 will go on sale in the United States. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 186 horsepower (139 Kilowatts) as well as 186 pound-feet (252 Newton-meters) of torque. The Mazda3 can be ordered with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six speed automatic transmission. It also comes with both front- and all-wheel-drive. There are also five-door hatchbacks and four-door sedan body types. Prices starting at $21,000

Mazda will also offer the Mazda3 with the SkyactivX supercharged 2.0-liter four cylinder with Spark Controlled Comppression Ignition. American specs are not yet available. However, a brochure by Slovakia shows that the European model produces 178 horsepower (133 kW) as well as 164 lbft (222 Nm). The mill can be ordered with either a transmission or drivetrain layout.
