Geely Holds Guinness World Record for Largest Car Mosaic

Just in time to celebrate the Year of the Ox.

Geely holds the Guinness World Record (Image) for the Largest Car Mozaic, just in time to celebrate the Chinese New Year. It took more than 30 hours for 750 Geely Emgrand cars to create a massive ox’s head.

The gallery below shows that the contrasting background is formed by the white cars and the darker-colored cars. According to the Chinese traditional calendar, February 12th 2021 is the first day of the Chinese Spring Festival and the New Year. This image is the Year of the Ox which is this year’s Zodiac.

Geely Emgrand Official Clubs of China organized the mosaic, which measured 7,070.26 meters (8,456 yards), in an effort to break the current record. This effort was successful and it officially broke Guinness World Records for the largest car mosaic (image).

The record’s guidelines state that the mosaic must be made entirely of cars that can be seen from above. Also, the distance between cars should not exceed 20 cm (7.87 inches). The mosaic must cover a minimum of 3,000 square feet. m. (3,588 sq. yd. ).

We recently reported on the fastest time for a car to go one mile. This record was set by Jussi Kallioniemi, who drove his 2006 Saab SUV across the course in 13:26 seconds.

Last year, the Porsche Taycan set its own Guinness World Record for the longest electric vehicle drift. Dennis Retera drove the Taycan for 42.171 km (26.1 miles). The session lasted 55 minutes at an average speed of 46 km/h (29 miles/h).
