Next year will see the release of Electrikhana, a new film.
Ken Block is the face of the Gymkhana movie franchise. So when Ford parted ways earlier this year, the fate of the rally driver was in doubt. Block had announced a partnership to Audi earlier, leaving us wondering what the future holds.
Block offers more details, including announcing his return as a Gymkhana franchise member… Block introduces a new installment of the series called Electrikhana. Yes, this partnership will see a special Audi E-Tron build by the German automaker.
Block posted a YouTube video that documented his trip to Germany, where he drove both Audis of the past and present. This was in an effort to hype up the announcement. He first had a round with the Audi RS E-Tron GT. With its 590 horsepower (440kilowatts) & 612 pound-feet (830 Newton meters) power output, the Porsche Taycan cousin quietly conquers the track.
It’s impossible to talk about rally racing without mentioning the 1984 Audi Sport Quattro that Block had the opportunity to drive around the circuit. Block claims it was the vehicle that inspired him into rally racing.
Block’s transition to electric rally racing is now answered by the description that comes with the video:
Block’s Electrikhana is scheduled to be released in 2022. Audi will unveil the celebrity rally-racer’s new toy within the next few months. We recommend that you keep your eyes peeled for any announcements.
