Speculation is mounting about the final details of Nissan’s V-Spec GT-R. One claim is for 550hp.
The Nissan Banzai Engineers have a new version of the GT-R supercar, which they are not content to lap at 7 minutes and 38 seconds.
The V-Spec moniker will be used on the car. As there seems to be an insatiable demand for information and news on the new Nissan GT-R, there is a lot of speculation about this model.
AutoExpress, a British motor magazine, has published their own article in which it suggests that the 473 horsepower VR38DETT twin turbo V6 with 3.8L V6 produces a 16% power increase. The V-Spec GT-R will generate around 550 horsepower. The GT-R will be able to lose around 150kg so that the extra 77 horsepower is not wasted.
Although the GT-R has a low CD number of 0.27, the V-Spec version will have a bespoke kit that should reduce force and improve stability when turning in tight corners.
As the GT-R is such a powerful track weapon, it’s hard to imagine a more aggressive version. Nissan wants to offer prospective GT-R buyers a complete range of models, just like Porsche offers Turbo, GT3 or GT2 versions.
The Super GT-R will be more expensive than the standard car. This is at least PS20,000 sterling higher than the rumoured PS55,000 price.
