The plug-in hybrid engine, which produces 300 horsepower, is also included.

Citroen’s luxury DS brand is now available. The new DS 7 Crossback, a luxury SUV from France’s newly-formed automaker, is a surprising pun. It brings a distinct flavor to the Geneva Motor Show.

The styling is what matters most. The burnt orange finish is complemented by a sculpted fascia. The luxurious look is enhanced by the active LED “Vision”, headlights, and the distinctive 3D taillights that give the rear end an extra special look. The luxurious exterior is just one aspect of the story.

Two 12-inch touchscreens provide second-row access to information such as navigation details and allow access to the multimedia interface MirrorScreen and DS Connect functions. Driver and passenger have the same capabilities via the large screen at the center console.

There will be a variety of gasoline, diesel, or hybrid engine options that can produce power. The new plug-in option is the most notable, able to produce a total power output of 300 horsepower (223 Kilowatts), and can be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The gas engine generates 200 horsepower (149kilowatts), and the electric motors add 100 horses (74kW). Under the second row is a 13 kilowatt-hour lithiumion battery.

There will be a 225-hp gas engine (167-kW), a 180hp diesel unit (134-kW), and several other options. All DS 7 Crossbacks can be ordered with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission, except for the plug-in option.

The new DS 7 is currently on display at the Geneva Motor Show, Switzerland. It will go on sale in the second half of the year.
