You can also use it as a canopy, tent or screen to projectors.
It would be ideal for everyone to have their car in a climate-controlled garage each night. But that is not the reality. Lanmodo will launch a Kickstarter campaign to fund a car-mounted umbrella, which would provide some protection for your vehicle’s paint.
Lanmodo refers to this strange device as the All-in-One Wireless Automatic Car Tent. It attaches to your vehicle’s roof with a large suction cup. Hooks and loops are attached to the roof using side mirrors and door handles. The wireless remote controls the device’s ability to unfold at the touch of a button. The installation is shown in the video clip below.
Your car will be protected from hail and rain by having an umbrella. Lanmodo claims that the shelter from the sun helps keep the cabin cool. This device could also be used to keep bird droppings off your vehicle’s paint.
The Automatic Car Tent can also be used to protect your car. Attachments allow owners to set up the canopy as an umbrella, or charge their devices with the USB port. The silver coating can be used as a screen for projectors.
Although Lanmodo’s Kickstarter has not yet been launched as of writing, the preview shows a variety of support tiers. Super Early Bird levels allow buyers to get the basic setup including the All-in-One Wireless Automatic Car Tent with remote control, car charger and wall charger starting at $199 or EUR188 The longer you wait, the more expensive prices can go up to EUR254 or $269. Lanmodo estimates that the standard package will retail at $399. You can add more upgrades to the package, such as the conversion pieces that allow you to build a freestanding canopy.
This device is useful for hail-prone people who can’t park their car in a garage. The conversion can be used as a canopy or tent during the rest of year, which adds to its versatility.
