It can be used side-by-side with a Bronco Sports.
It can be hard to gauge the size of a vehicle if you only have photos or video. These spy photos of the Ford Maverick unibody pickup show it next to a Bronco Sports. These photos offer a great opportunity to compare their footprints.
The Maverick’s front overhang appears shorter than the Bronco Sports when they are viewed in profile. The truck’s wheelbase is a little longer than that of the crossover and it is also longer overall.
However, there are some striking similarities. The angle of the A-pillar is identical. Both vehicles have roughly the same passenger space. It appears that the Maverick’s cargo space is roughly the same as the Bronco Sport’s, even if the crossover has its rear seats down.
The C2 platform is shared by the Maverick, Bronco Sport, and the Escape. Information currently available suggests that the powertrains range should also be identical. A 1.5-liter three-cylinder with 180 horsepower (134 Kilowatts) will be available to buyers. It produces 177 pound-feet (240 Nm) of torque. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder would offer 250 horsepower (186 kW) as well as 275 lbft (373 Nm). Rumours suggest that a hybrid engine is also in development.
Spy shots show that the base Maverick will be front wheel drive with a twist beam rear suspension. Higher trim levels have all-wheel drive and independent rear suspension.
Ford is working on a Timberline model, which would equip the truck with parts that can be used for off-roading. Although Raptor-level capabilities are not expected, this Timberline model would be capable of handling more rugged conditions than other grades.
