You can’t have a Hummer with out some bling.
The OG Hummer is the only vehicle that can sport automotive bling. While the H1 was more designed for off-roading, H2 and H3 were more focused on accessories. The GMC brand has the moniker back as a luxury electric pickup. This opens up new possibilities for all sorts of factory-backed GMC Hummerupfits. There are almost 200.
We reached out to GMC for more information about the items but were not provided with any details. GMC told the world that there would be “nearly 200 accessories” for the Hummer EV when it debuted in October 2020. However, we are still unsure of the details. The GMC Hummer actually produces the same twist as a heavy-duty diesel pickup. This is impressive, but it lacks the wow factor.
For a GMC Hummer, it seems strange to spend so much on factory accessories. It makes sense to offer a gazillion accessories for either mainstream pickups or offroaders such as the Jeep Wrangler, since automakers sell a gazillion models of these vehicles. With its $113,000 price tag, limited production runs and limited availability, the GMC Hummer First Edition will not become a mass-market model. We are left wondering what accessories buyers may want. It is also fully loaded at the factory.
Accessories could be more appealing to Hummer buyers than other models. However, the First Edition sequel won’t arrive until fall 2022, and the entry-level $80,000 Hummer machine won’t arrive until 2024. GMC’s long rollout of its luxury electric offroader has raised some eyebrows. However, we have seen firsthand how much off-road enthusiasts love to customize their vehicles.
Buyers shouldn’t be put off by high prices. It’s not worth spending more money on snazzy wheels, camping gear, or bed racks.
