A stunning poster celebrating the V10 by Audi R8’s disintegration celebrates it

Audi commissioned a talented artist to create the illusion that an R8 was exploding.

2019 marks the 10 Th Audi’s V10 engine, the R8 and the Four Rings celebrate this milestone with the highly sought-after $214,995 Decennium edition. Ingolstadt-based marque found another way to celebrate the occasion. Fabian Oefner Audi calls it the “slowest art” they have ever created.

If you recognize the name of the artist, it’s because Lamborghini released an identical video (attached to below) that featured an “exploding Miura”. These photos are part Fabian’s “Disintegrating” series. They were taken by Fabian taking photos of every component of the vehicle, right from its body shell down to the smallest screws. Every component of the car is photographed in a way that creates the illusion of an explosion.

Many people would think the image of the 2017 Audi R8 in disarray is fake. But that’s not the truth. This image is the result of a long and tedious process of photographing every component behind the seats, then joining them together to create the feeling of a car about to burst.

This truly remarkable work of art is available as a poster measuring 12.75″ x 30, from the Audi collection. It costs $24.95 in America.

The video’s title and soundtrack are both a nod towards an Audi ad that was released back in the days for the original R8. This is a late 2007 video called “The R8” and featured the same song (“Simone White – the Beep Beep Song”), which was the exact opposite to the new ad. It showed the supercar’s naturally aspirated engine coming together. You can see the video below:
