Morgan Teases a New Four-Cylinder Car for Geneva

It is the new Plus 4?

Morgan launched the new decade with a new brand aluminum platform, which replaced the brand’s steel chassis that had been in service for 83 years. The V8 engines were also dropped by the British company and replaced with single-turbo, twin-scroll inline-six units made by BMW. A new Morgan model will be unveiled at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show next Wednesday. The first teaser photo of the car has been released by the manufacturer via its official Facebook Page. Although it doesn’t reveal much, the overall shape suggests that the car will not be an extreme departure from the company’s existing design language.

We are now certain that we will be dealing a four-cylinder car. This makes it likely that Morgan will unveil a new generation Plus 4. The Ford-sourced 154-horsepower (115 kilowatt) engine powers the current model. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 7.7 seconds. Morgan stated that the sports car will be riding on the new aluminum architecture. It is two times as rigid as Morgan’s aluminum chassis and weighs only 97 kg (213.8 lbs). Morgan’s Plus4 70th Anniversary Edition was released earlier this year. It features a gold frame and a platinum body, as a final hurrah of the outgoing model. We believe that the manufacturer will present a completely redesigned Plus 4 at Geneva. Keep checking back for more information on March 3.
