The new Heavy Duty model from Ram was unveiled earlier this month at 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It was hailed as the “most powerful and capable pickup” and earned a place in the show’s top and most important premieres. The automaker has now added the Sport package to its lineup. It was introduced at the Boston Auto Show. This pack combines the best of both the 2500 and 3500 trucks with a few minor visual adjustments. Additional design features include body-colored bumpers, door handles, grille surround, and door handles that offer class-leading payload and towing ratings. There will be 12 exterior colors available, including Patriot Blue, Billet Silver and Diamond Black Crystal.
Ram claims the interior is all-black with a matching black headliner. The Sport pack includes front and rear park assistance systems as standard. Models with Big Horn/Lone Star trims or Laramie trims will have the appearance package, regardless of their cabin or powertrain configurations. The visual upgrade is available for both the 2500/3500 models. Although pricing is not yet known, don’t be surprised if the Sport package costs more than it should. Ram is yet to release pricing for the 2500 and 3500 standard models. This should change in the coming weeks. The new HD trucks will arrive in showrooms this spring after being built at FCA’s Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant, Mexico. Diesel models will come with a 5-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Gas-powered pickups will have a 60,000 mile warranty.
