Three years after its launch, some very significant changes were made to the small crossover.
The introduction of the Seltos, Kia’s high-riding global model, was in June 2019. The model’s North American debut was in November 2019, at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It went on sale in the first quarter 2020. The compact crossover, which is a highly competitive segment, is getting a significant update to its interior. The Seltos gets reworked headlights, with discreetly updated vertical fog lamps and new LED daytime running light. Kia has also updated the front skid plate’s appearance. The mesh grille now looks a lot bigger after moving the silver trim from the middle to the bottom.
To give the impression of a larger vehicle, a light bar was added at the rear. The taillights are sharper and have a more defined configuration. The bumper now has red reflectors that have been moved into the plastic cladding. There are no fake exhaust tips. The cabin of the 2024 Seltos has a modified dashboard that can accommodate both 10.25-inch screens. The bulky gear lever has been replaced with a rotary switch. However, it is still flanked with several buttons. The HVAC controls were also modified by Kia, but we are glad that they remain and have not been lost to the infotainment.
The reveal today is a visual change only, in typical Hyundai/Kia/Genesis fashion. The 2024 Seltos’ technical specifications will be revealed next month at the Busan Motor Show, South Korea. The model will not be available in Europe, where Kia offers the similar-sized XCeed which is a step above the Stonic.
