Opel Insignia confirmed for the U.S. by Buick Regal

The Regal is expected to debut in 2010, as a 2011 model. It will be below the Buick LaCrosse.

GM has confirmed that the Buick Regal, once considered one of the most secretive models in the business, will be returning to the lineup.

Although the company did not provide any information, it is certain that the Regal will be a rebadged Opel/Vauxhall Insignia. The Regal will effectively be identical to the Chinese version.

There will be three engine options: a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 217 horsepower, a turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 with 254 PS and the possible 325-hp turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 from the OPC/VXR.

The Regal is expected to launch in 2010 (as a 2011 version), and will be below the Buick LaCrosse.
In the coming months, expect more information.
