Rare Ford GT 720 Mirage is a sight to behold, even in Monaco

Although it is believed to be one the ten original cars, it could also be one of three.

The Ford GT is a supercar made of biturbo V6 and has wonky aerodynamics. The GT’s incredible performance is not enough to stop some people from wishing for a V8 American engine.

This video shows the Ford GT’s previous generation and its 5.4-liter supercharged V8 cruising around Monaco, along with other supercars. It’s not a regular Ford GT. This is a rare tuner Ford GT called the 720 Mirage. Built by Avro Cars in 2008, the 720 Mirage boasts 720 horsepower and a host other performance upgrades. The car also features a modified suspension and brake system as well as an orange-colored paint job that will make eyes swoon.

These changes make it a unique car. However, the Avro 720 Mirage also is extremely rare. The total production run was only 10 cars. However, this is where things get murky since there isn’t much information on the cars after the 2008 announcement. Each car has a plaque that identifies the production number. However, a thread at fordgtforum.com states that only 3 of these cars were ever completed. It was not easy to find new Ford GTs for conversion in 2008, three years after production had ceased.
