The event will begin on September 2.
Porsche announced today that the second-annual Sports Car Together Fest will be held in Indianapolis later this year. It will take place on Labor Day weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. There will be three days of Porsche activities, including plenty of racing.
The main draw will be the cars at the track. Porsche will host two rounds of its North American Porsche Carrera Cup racing series, 13 and 14. Porsche Club of America will host some time-attack events and there will be Sprint Challenge racing.
“We are looking forward to welcoming fans and enthusiasts to share the thrills of the track, the heights in sports car engineering both in the real world and virtual worlds, as well as the spirit of Porsche heritage,” stated Kjell Gruner (Porsche Cars North America President and CEO).
Porsche will be celebrating 50 years in racing. In 1972, the first Porsche RS model, a 911 Carrera arrived. This makes 2022 the RS’s golden anniversary. Porsche wants to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the RS with worldwide events, but that’s not all that’s going on in Indy.
With a wide range of events, the second-annual Sports Car Together Fest will try to please all car enthusiasts. Porsche will host a classic restoration challenge where dealers are asked to restore a Porsche sports car that was built between 1950 and 2000 back to its original condition. Porsche said that it will host an eSports championship.
Porsche is constantly adding activities and events to its festival lineup. We’ll hopefully get more information about the event before it officially starts. Porsche stated that ticket information would be available in the near future. This should allow Porsche fans plenty of time for planning their trip to Indianapolis. September 2nd – 4th.
