The proceeds were donated to charity.
Hennessey just announced last week that the Venom GT will be leaving the company. It will make it more difficult and more costly to purchase one of the fastest cars in the world. One lucky buyer walked away with a Venom with some history.
The BarrettJackson Scottsdale auction saw Steven Tyler, rock and roll legend, sell his Venom GT Spyder for $800,000. It was signed by Aerosmith and included a week’s vacation to Tyler’s Maui beach home. All proceeds went to Janie’s Fund which works with abused girls and was inspired by “Janie’s Got a Gun” in 1989.
This Venom GT, despite celebrity ties, is one of five examples made for the 2013 model year and the first GT Spyder. The Venom GT is a new model that costs $1.1 million. The Venom GT’s biturbo-7.0-liter V8 produces 1,200 horsepower (894 Kilowatts) as well as 1,155 pound-feet (1.565 Newton-meters). This particular model is paired with a six speed manual gearbox and can reach 60 mph (96 kmh), and then accelerate to 270 mph (434 kmh).
The interior features a black leather exterior with red stitching, and a custom teardrop logo that is similar to Tyler’s tattoo. JL Audio also installed a custom sound system to allow you to blast “Love in an Elevator” while listening to the V8. Although it wasn’t on our list of the ” 10 Most Expensive” at the Arizona auctions, it is still an impressive piece.
