Again.
Friends, it’s been six years since first reports of an Apple car surfaced. The early reports from the tech giant about an electric and autonomous car date back to 2015. We have only heard rumors and speculations. Guess what? A new report from South Korea claims that Apple has altered its plans. Again.
Apple was rumored to have planned to develop the car by itself in the initial stages of development. This would not have required input from any companies from the automotive sector. The firm encountered many problems and limitations and decided to partner with an automaker. They knocked on the door of Hyundai, Magna and Nissan, as well as Toyota . However, all of these companies were unwilling to participate in the project.
The new report claims that Apple has decided once again to develop the product on its own. According to mk.co.kr, local sources claimed that Apple is currently working on restoring its vehicle design center and processing documents necessary for Apple’s acquisition of the required supplier contracts.
According to the report, Apple’s new strategy stemmed from discussions with automotive industry players that didn’t work out and no one was interested in possible collaboration. Apple, after many failed talks, decided it could no longer delay the project because the automotive market is rapidly changing.
According to a report from South Korea Apple remains true to its original plan to create a high-tech electric vehicle that can operate autonomously. It is believed that Apple is at least four years away of launching its product onto the market. Experts believe Apple will sell approximately 1.5 million units once it is available for purchase.
