It is minty fresh.
This E30 BMW 3 Series has been redesigned and features a new engine. The body is a tribute to Allen Berg’s 1991 DTM car, complete with Tic Tac livery. It is a striking look that is not subtle.
This engine, the S52B32 from the US-market BMW M3 E36, produces over 800 horsepower (597kilowatts). The pistons and rods have been replaced. Turbocharged, the powerplant has what the builder calls “the largest intercooler you can find and fits with [the] stock frame.”
The engine management system allows you to switch between seven boost settings at once. It can run on either 91 octane or ethanol.
A five-speed manual transmission from the E36 M3 is also available. The engine has been upgraded with a new clutch and pressure plate. A rear differential with limited slip is available.
The E30 already features wider fenders that the 3Series. The car is even wider thanks to the LTO widebody kit. The original Tic Tac livery is modified by the owner. This includes removing the mint logo from the side of this car. This makes the gold stripe more prominent in the design.
The M3’s original design didn’t include the huge, double-planed wing, pointed front splitter and rear diffuser. They fit in with the rest of the car’s competition-ready design so they don’t look out of place.
The original front seats, rear benches, and door cards are still available inside. The cabin has a 3.5-inch LCD display that allows you to monitor important numbers such as the boost or fuel pressure. A second screen allows you to control the air suspension system. The car does not have air conditioning so it might be a little warm during summer drives.
