This spring, the electric crossover will be available.

Lexus has released some new photos of its upcoming RZ450e electric crossover in conjunction with the brand’s 2021 global sales announcement. This spring, the EV will make its full debut.

These photos provide a better view of the RZ450e’s rear and sides. The vehicle’s profile is strikingly similar to the Toyota bZ4x or Subaru Solterra, which share the same eTNGA platform (see the comparison below). The Lexus’s design is a little more sleeker with a black C pillar. The Lexus’s rear styling is completely different from the forthcoming Toyota and Subaru electric crossovers. The RZ 450e uses a single, elegant strip to wrap around the sides of the taillights. The fascia behind the tires also has an outlet.

The front of the RZ450e was previously shown by Lexus. The brand’s new spindle grille has an opening in its lower section and vertical inlets at each end. The vehicle’s aggressive appearance is reflected in its sharp creases at the nose and pointed headlights. The interior photos of the Lexus EV are not yet available. Because the marque is premium, it would likely have better technology and more luxurious materials than products from Toyota or Subaru.

It is still unknown what the RZ 450e’s engine powertrain is. The Solterra and bZ4X are available with a total output of 215 horsepower (160 kilowatts). This is generated by an electric motor that powers each axle. However, this seems a little low for the Lexus. We don’t also have RZ 450e battery details. The bZ4X comes with a 72.8-kilowatt hour pack.

Lexus sold 760,012 vehicles between 2021 and 2020, 6 percent more than 2020. North America was the largest market for Lexus, with an estimated 332,000 units. China came in second with 227,000 deliveries. Lexus also set a new record in electrified vehicle deliveries, with around 260,000 vehicles. This was 10 percent more than last year. The company plans to have all its sales come from fully-electric vehicles by 2030 in North America, Europe and China.
