New Teaser: Ram 1500 Electric Truck Announced for Fall 2022

Because production has yet to begin, we’ll first see the concept version.

Ram has released a teaser video showing its forthcoming electric pickup truck. Today’s video was released just days before Ford starts producing its all-electric Lightning. Ram tweeted the video and said it was “Time for some thunder.” The new teaser is a short video that has been posted to YouTube and social media by the brand. It shows the truck’s unique lighting signature and silhouette head-on. Dual running lights bracket the truck’s illuminated interior. Ram.

The badge is located in the middle. It’s likely that it branches out and around pickup’s headlights. However, we are unable to see them. Teaser images show a truck with a long, sleek hood, extended fenders above the wheels, and double-bubble roof.

Ram stated in 2022 that it was developing an electric pickup. Production is expected to begin in 2024. It’s a concept that we will likely see on the cover of this year’s issue, as Ram called it in the past. The latest teaser does not mention a concept. This is most likely an oversight.

We’ve seen teasers that show a pickup with a truck-like styling. It’s modeled after the GMC Hummer and not the more traditional-looking F150 Lightning. Although the styling appears muscular and aggressive, it could just be that the designers have a bit more freedom with the concept version.

We are not able to provide details on the truck’s powertrain as production will not begin until 2024. However, we expect it to be based on the STLA Frame platform, which is in development for Stellantis pickup trucks. Trucks will be able to travel up to 500 miles (805 km) with the platform’s scalable capabilities. The platform can accommodate a range of batterie sizes , from 159-kilowatt hours to more than 200.

Ram is trying to understand what truck buyers want from an EV by holding Ram Real Talk events. This is where the automaker questions the public about their expectations for an electric vehicle. Ram will use this input to design the concept for the production pickup.
