Ares Design Presents Wami Lalique Spyder, A Chic Tribute To The ’50s

Only 12 of these are in production.

Although 2020 was not an easy year, Ares Design made the best of it. In July, the niche supercar manufacturer brought back its retro-looking Panther. In September, the C8 Corvette-based S Project was followed by renderings a roofless version known as the S1 Project Spyder. These renders were just before Halloween.

We now have renderings for another project. It’s quite different from the other. This elegant ride places the engine in the front and offers passengers a luxurious, jewel-adorned interior. Its exterior is in the same colors as 1950s roadsters. Say hello to the Ares Design Wami Lalique Spyder, Folks.

Although the name may sound a bit long, it’s due to Ares Design’s partnership on this project with Lalique. This French-based company is a specialist in crystal manufacturing and will embellish the two-tone interior of the roadster with crystal embellishments, from the centre console to the doors. The interior will include leather, wood and black-on white gauges. However, it will still be a modern machine that features a large touchscreen display rising out of the dash.

Ares Design claims that the Wami Lalique Spyder’s exterior is well proportioned. The long hood captures the essence classics such as the Jaguar E-Type or C1 Corvette. While the wire wheels and fender vents almost scream Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder, the long hood is a great example of this. Although the body will be hand-formed aluminum and carbon fiber, Ares Design won’t reveal what lies beneath it. We would choose a V8 but we are open to considering a V12 or high-revving Inline-six.

Dany Bahar, co-founder of Ares Design, said that “as the work progresses we can now begin to appreciate how beautiful and unique car it is we are co-creating together with our partner Lalique.” It is unlike any other car we have made before. The Wami Lalique Spyder is a joy to have – the ultimate luxury accessory.

Although pricing and availability are not known at the moment, it will be expensive. Ares Design plans to only build 12 production models
