Sin Cars, a niche manufacturer, is now offering an electric version of its R1550 supercar. The plug-in hybrid will have a single electric motor at the front that can send 120 horsepower (89 megawatts) to the front wheels. This allows for all-electric operation of up to 60 km (37 miles) at 100 km/h (62mph). These figures aren’t great for a supercar but the -sourced 6.2-liter V8 that generates 450 horsepower (336kW) makes up for it.
It’s possible that some of you don’t even know what this car is or where it came from. Let’s start with a brief history of Sin Cars: The company was founded in 2012, under the leadership of the current CEO Rosen Daskalov. As is often the case for boutique automakers, prototype development was slow. With the debut of the R1 production supercar at 2017 Geneva Motor Show and the current websitelisting a variety of street and track versions of the R1, the company gained some momentum.
Although the R1550 is the base of the new hybrid, it uses the R1450’s smaller 450-hp engine. The R1 500 plug in hybrid produces a total of 570 horsepower (425 kW) and can propel the supercar to speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h), according to Sin Cars.

This is a good price considering that the total weight of this hybrid weighs in at 1,480 kilograms (3262 pounds) for a small supercar with two seats. Sin Cars claims that the hybrid can be equipped with a supercharged, 6.2-liter V8 engine. This is the same engine used in the Corvette Z06. The combined power jumps to 800 hp (597kW), although Sin Cars has not yet tested this combination.
The price for the plug-in hybrid starts from EUR219,000 ($267.116), and will be displayed at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
