The E63 S is a powerful 789-hp engine and will eventually surpass the electronically limited top speed limit of 186 mph (300 km/h).
Friday’s tuning show is shaping up to be a bonanza. After seeing Startech’s Velar and ABT’s RS4–R , Brabus will now unveil its plans for the Geneva Motor Show. We’re in for a treat from the Bottrop-based specialists. Brabus modified the biturbo-4.0-liter V8 to make the Mercedes-AMG E63 a luxurious four-door supercar.
The engine was modified to produce an additional 186 horsepower (138kilowatts), for a total of 789 HP (588 kW) at 6,700 RPM. This was achieved by tweaking the turbochargers. It also increased torque by 74 pound-feet (100%), which is attainable starting at 3,600 rpm.
The E63 S now has the Brabus muscles, which allows it to accelerate to 62 kph (100 km/h) in just three seconds. This makes it 0.4s faster than the standard car. The slightly heavier body means that it is a tenth slower in sprinting, at 3.1 seconds. Top speed? The electronic limiter will kick in at 186 mph (303 kph), as is the case for the regular model. However, the tuner claims it’s exploring ways to unlock higher speeds for both body types.
The V8’s enhancements only make up a small part of the tuning story. Mercedes-AMG E63S can be fitted with carbon fiber body parts that have been optimized in the wind tunnel for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. These pieces can be ordered with a matte or high-gloss coating. You can also get a variety of alloy wheels up to 21 inches, a stainless-steel exhaust system with ceramic coating for the finishers, and many customization options inside the cabin.
Brabus will display this E63 S with black and red interior starting March 6, at the Geneva Motor Show.
