The 2019MY’s A7 is just like the CLS.
The first A7 Sportback stood out from other Audis with its droopy rear end is gone. The A6’s athletic cousin adopts the company’s new design language. It shares many styling cues with the A8 flagship model, but has a focus on a more dynamic form to put the sport in Sportback.
Motor1.com friend Audiography had a privilege to be the first to immortalize A7 after the model’s official debut in October 2017. His photo shoot was conducted in Oslo Norway, at temperatures below -13° Celsius (8.6° Fahrenheit). The subject of the photo shoot was an elegant black model in the 55 TFSI Quattro flavour as per Audi’s controversial nomenclature.
The A7 is up against the new Mercedes CLS and the old BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. It aims to be a technological tour de force wrapped within a sleek body that attracts customers who are looking for a four door model with a practical tailgate. It boasts almost the same features as the A8 and the new A6 Sedan, including Audi’s new approach to the user interface. The center console is dominated by dual touchscreen displays and compliments the second-generation “Virtual Cockpit.”
People looking for a more sporty version of the A7 will need to wait until the S7, which was seen at the start of the month with no camouflage. This suggests that an official reveal may be in the future. The RS7 will be the crown jewel of this range. It was captured a few month ago with its RS-specific oval exhaust pipes hidden underneath a regular model.
