You don’t need to buy both a sedan or an SUV when you can have them all in one vehicle.
Mercedes will reveal a GLS-based Maybach SUV this year, but it isn’t. The bizarrely-shaped Ultimate Luxury concept was first shown at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2018. This showcar is a hybrid of an SUV and sedan, wrapped in an extravagant package that you either love it or hate.
Although the three-pointed star has not yet approved a production version Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury, Steffen Kohl, Director Advanced Exterior Design at Mercedes, said Supercar Blondi Future models will incorporate some of these design cues. Check out the one-off Exelero The YouTube Star traveled to Frankfurt to see the amazing concept.
This is not your average Mercedes SUV. From the massive 24-inch-torque-styled wheels and split trunk to the extravagant rose gold accents, and fancy pop-out door handles. You will also love the unusual shape and luxurious interior, which seats four with all the luxury amenities you can imagine. The China-centric concept is billed as the first Sports Utility Limousine (SUL). It features a full-length central console that integrates a heated tray with a cup and a teapot for the rear passengers. The tea set is placed on an ebony-sculpted wooden tray. It can be seen when you press a button that displays Maybach’s double M logo in rose gold.
The concept is completely electric, unlike the Mercedes-Maybach GLS which has conventional engines up to a rumored 12 cylinder V12. It has four compact motors that produce 738 horsepower (550kilowatts), which is sent to all four wheels to allow an electronically limited top speed of 155mph (250 km/h).
Mercedes states that the battery is mounted on the floor and has a capacity 80 kWh. This gives it more than 200 miles (322 km) per EPA, or more than 311 (500 km) based upon NEDC. The battery can be charged in just five minutes and provides the luxury barge with approximately 62 miles (100km) of range.
Are you curious about its dimensions? It measures 5260 millimeters (207 in) in length, 2110 mm(83 in) in width, and 1764mm (69 in height). Although it is likely to be a formidable presence on the roads, we won’t likely ever see it because the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept is only a concept.
