This could bring a smile to Han Solo’s face. It could be.
Nissan loves playing with the Rogue, especially when it comes to the Star Wars partnership. This was not a far-fetched idea. We think it’s quite clever. It all began with Star Wars: Rouge One (2016), when the Japanese marque was fast enough that it took the opportunity to dress up its car which coincidentally shares the same name. Nissan Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition was thus born. The quirky Rogue XWing Concept continues the partnership. Don’t be discouraged if this didn’t appeal.
Nissan created a Millennium Falcon-inspired Rogue to accompany Solo: A Star Wars Story’s world premiere on May 25, this time. It will be joining Hollywood’s stars on the red carpet. Vehicle Effects did the custom-fabrication, just like the Star Wars-inspired Rogues.
“As the third installment in our own trilogy of collaborations, Lucasfilm, it was a significant achievement that we delivered our best custom-show vehicle yet,” stated Jeremy Tucker, Nissan vice president of marketing communications media.
“We began with the Nissan Rogue, the most popular model in the world, and then worked with Lucasfilm and ILM’s talented concept designers. Next, we turned to Vehicle Effects to bring it to life. He said that the result was hands-down one of the most exciting vehicles we’ve ever made.”
The Millennium Falcon’s treatment of the Rogue is more than just cosmetics. The interior of the Rogue is modified to include buttons, lights and sound effects. This closely reflects the sounds and sights of the iconic spaceship’s cockpit. The chairs have been designed so that you can feel and see the Millennium Falcon from the seat of your chair. It’s pretty cool. This could bring a smile to Han Solo’s face.
The rear end also gets a “hyperdrive”, visually and audibly with the Bose speakers and installed blue lights. These effects generate 1,500 watts intergalactic sound effects. The Millennium Falcon-themed Rogue is shown in action in the video below.
We’ll let you decide the exterior design. It’s still a show car, so it won’t likely be on the streets soon.
