This beautiful ‘what if’ was digitally rendered by Paul Breshke
The Ferrari F40 has become an iconic car. The V8-powered coupe could be considered one of the most iconic supercars ever made. The F40’s demise in 1992 was a sign of the end of an era. Ferrari replaced it quickly with the F50 in 1994, and the Enzo in 2002. One rendering artist hopes to restore the F40 in the form a modern supercar.
Paul Breshke spent seven months creating his Ferrari F42 descendant. The end result is an amazing “what if”! The concept draws inspiration from multiple Ferrari models as well as the iconic F40. It features a sleek front fascia with multiple vents, carbon fiber trim pieces and slim LED headlights.
This concept clearly reflects the F40’s DNA. Just look at that wild rear wings. Even the directional wheels appear futuristic F40 spokes. We also see hints of modern cars such as the C race car or F8Tributo, especially in features like the pointed nosepiece and vented hood. The side profile shares many characteristics with icons such as the LaFerrari or Enzo.
Breshke sends us an email saying that the first idea on Ferrari F42 was to make a new F40. “But every idea I tried didn’t seem good enough. “That’s why I decided to change my mind and create my own Ferrari look, inspired by a few models from the brand.
This is the closest we will ever see an F40, and Ferrari does not plan to bring the iconic nameplate back to life. The company does promise two new sports vehicles in 2020. This includes the long-awaited Purosangue SUV, which will finally make its debut in 2021. A new hypercar will follow in 2022. Each of these cars will add to the already impressive brand lineup. We can only dream about a modern F40.
