This package commemorates Abarth’s 70th Anniversary.
The 2020 Fiat124 Abarth has added a Scorpion Sting graphics package as a celebration of Abarth’s 70th anniversary and Fiat’s 120th. This add-on costs $395 and adds a huge, red scorpion decal on the 124’s roof as well as a pair red stripes to its sides. Because this package includes Scorpion Sting graphics, the low-mounted stripes include scorpion graphics.
The 124 Spider Abarth has a lower base price than $30,000 and includes a turbocharged turbocharged 1.4-liter Inline-four with 164 horsepower. It can be paired to either a six-speed manual or optional six-speed auto.
The Fiat 500 and its Abarth model were both lost in the U.S., so the 124 Spider Abarth is now the only Fiat vehicle to sport the Abarth badge.
The model is still far from being a commercial success. Fiat sold 1,528 124s in June. This is 164 less than the 500 that’s leaving. This also represents a 19% sales decline over the previous year.
Although we aren’t sure that the Scorpion Sting graphics package can increase sales of this model, we believe Fiat will find a way to keep the 124 profitable. The U.S. market cannot afford to lose another roadster.
