Renault Alaskan Formula Edition Is An F1-Themed Pickup Truck
There is no V6 engine, only a diesel.

Renault celebrates its tie-ups with Formula 1 by unveiling an Alaskan pickup truck special edition for the umpteenth consecutive time. The utilitarian vehicle was created by the same company that brought us the F1-engined minivan with crazy 1994 Espace concept. Unfortunately, it is not all that impressive. The Renault Sport Formula One Team colors are used on the vehicle, which follows the same theme as the Master vans, Trafic and Kangoo.

Renault’s version the Nissan Navara/Mercedes X-Class is a predominantly black color with gold accents on the grille, bumper and sports bar. The front and rear doors have a gold stripe, and the wheel’s center gets an F1-infused golden look.

Expect to see a turbo-charged engine underneath that black hood. The Alaskan Formula Edition has the familiar 2.3-liter turbodiesel engine from Renault. It produces 188 horsepower (140kilowatts) as well as 450 Newton-meters (332 pounds-feet). It boasts an economy engine that is also powerful enough to provide pickup trucks with “exceptional off-road capabilities.”

Renault created a special Clio RS hot-hatch edition, in addition to giving its workhorses F1 treatment. The R.S. was unveiled at the start of the year. The Renault Sport’s R.S. 18 was unveiled at the beginning of the year. 18 Formula 1 car was based on the 220 EDC Trophy version and had a standard Akrapovic exhaust. It was a Renault-F1 car with the same black and golden theme and badges everywhere to reinforce the link between Renault and F1.
