The cute off-roader is powered by a 1.5-liter engine.
Suzuki fulfilled its promise to unveil the Jimny offroader in full on July 5, th and now we are happy share all technical information about the vehicle. We are sure you are excited about the powertrain.
The cute SUV will be getting a 1.5-liter gasoline engine to replace the 1.3-liter unit. According to the Japanese manufacturer, it produces more torque at lower revs, which is said to improve driving performance, particularly when driving off-road.
The 1,462-cc four-cylinder engine generates 100 horsepower (75 Kilowatts) at 6,000 RPM, while peak torque of 96 pound feet (130 Newton-meters), is at 4,000 RPM.
It will be standardly mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with optimized ratios for this new engine. This will deliver better fuel economy and more direct feeling during gear changes. The vibrations in the cabin have been decreased by a new shift lever, transmission mounts and a revised shift lever. A four-speed automatic will also be available with a revised shift pattern and lower friction.
The Allgrip Pro AWD system from Suzuki, which claims to be “designed to work for professionals”, delivers power to all four wheels. An all-wheel drive is also supported by a brake LSD Traction Control, which applies brake power when necessary to the slipping wheels.
The new Jimny rides on a ladder frame structure but has additional suspension components to increase torsional rigidity. Redesigned rear suspension design allows for an impressive approach angle, ramp breakover angle, and departure angle.
