“Spy shots,” show the 2019 BMW 3 Series Sedan in final testing at Nurburgring.
It all begins. BMW launched the teaser campaign to promote its new 3Serie (G20), which will debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show in about a month. The first episode focuses on spy shots of the sports sedan as it undergoes final testing at Nurburgring, allowing the 3 Series “mature lap after lap.”
Although these images don’t show everything, BMW has shared some details about the 7th-generation 3 Series. The center of gravity has been reduced by about 0.4 inches (10 millimeters), while the weight distribution is evenly 50/50.
Engineers have been able to reduce weight by up to 121 lbs (55 kg) and increase the rigidity and stiffness of the suspension and body structure. The new 3 Series has wider tracks, can be fitted with lightweight alloy wheels 18 inches in diameter and an optional M sport suspension that lowers the car by 0.4 inches (10 mil).
The G20’s highlight is the engine under the hood. It is the most powerful four-cylinder BMW has ever installed in a series production car. The gasoline engine is five percent more powerful than its predecessor and has an eight-speed Steptronic gearbox that makes it more economical.
Are you still not convinced? You still aren’t convinced?
In the coming weeks, we’ll be able to see inside the cabin and expect more teasers. For more information from BMW, see the press release section.
