This range-topping trim features a tech tour-de-force, including HD Matrix headlights as well as a lot of driver assistance tech.
The 2019 Audi A6 will soon be available in the United States for a base price $58,900, plus $995 destination for all models. The Premium Plus grade brings the price up to $62,700. The Prestige trim costs $67,100. All models are equipped with a mild-hybrid turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 335 horsepower, and 369 lb.ft of torque. The output is routed to an all-wheel drive system via a seven-speed gearbox.
The A6 has a different type headlight depending on the trim level. Premium models come with LEDs. Premium Plus adds matrix-design LEDs with high beam assist. The Prestige also features Audi’s HD Matrix LEDs, which create animations when the sedan locks or unlocks.
Additional exterior upgrades seem to be very limited. You can choose to have a sport suspension that lowers your ride height by 0.8 inches (20 mm). There are also V-spoke 20-inch wheels.
All 2019 A6s include a center console and a pair screen. The Premium trim’s upper infotainment screen measures 8.8 inches, while the other grades have a 10.1 inch display. The lower screen, 8.6 inches, handles HVAC controls as well as handwriting inputs. Navigation is standard across the entire lineup. The system also receives traffic information for the Prestige and Premium Plus grades. The top-of-the-line version includes a standard color head up display. Music fans also get a Bang & Olufsen Premium 3D Sound System in the Premium Plus, Prestige, and an optional 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen Stereo, 1,820-watt Prestige.
The 2019 A6 is standard with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking and rear cross traffic warning. Premium Plus and Prestige grades get blind zone monitoring, vehicle escape warning, rear cross traffic assistance, and rear accident help that can shut down the windows and pretension seatbelts in the event of a rear-end crash.
Audi offers additional driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, turn assist, intersection assist and traffic sign recognition.
