The new 4.2-liter engine could produce more than 500 horsepower.

Spy photographers snapped the first photos from what is believed to have been the 2017 Porsche 911 GT3RS 4.2.

The 911 GT3 RS is billed as a hardcore model. It features a front bumper that boasts massive air intakes and a bold front bumper. We can also see the sporty styling further back with front fender vents as well as lightweight center-locking tires. Although the prototype is still in development, it seems that the model will feature a new rear bumper as well as a rear diffuser from the 911R. The model is equipped with a dual exhaust system as well as a large rear wings.

Although our photographers were unable to get close enough for interior photos, we are not surprised that the cabin has a variety of weight-saving measures. Porsche used lightweight door panels and cloth door pulls in the 911 GT3 RS 4.0. This particular model had a roll cage and carbon fiber trim. It also came with six-point racing harnesses.

The car will be powered by a six-cylinder 4.2-liter engine. Although nothing is confirmed, speculation suggests that the engine will produce more horsepower than 500.
