Who says you can’t get behind the wheel of a car?
With Truck drivers It’s safe to say that most people spend their day behind the wheel, driving cabs to transport goods to important points across the country. This makes it difficult to stay fit. It can be dangerous to sit for too long and can lead to fatigue.
Iveco is changing all that with their new concept, the Fit Cab. The Fit Cab is part of their global truck range and sits within their Way range. Iveco hopes to create a cab that encourages physical activity and allows drivers to stay physically and mentally healthy. There is no better way to achieve this than to be able to take advantage of all the opportunities that are available, regardless where you may be. There are two mounting points on the Iveco Fit Cab for your gym equipment: one on the outside and one on the interior.
With the font, the exterior has a fitness-club feel. The interior gets a multitude of hooks and anchor points for setting up equipment. A multi-directional pulley is integrated into one of your cab walls. The ceiling also has a folded multigrip solution. You can slide the front step out with ease, as well as weights and resistance bands.
Although the concept isn’t yet ready for production, it will serve as a feedback tool to customers, allowing drivers and anyone else interested to provide their opinions. Iveco will showcase the Fit Cab concept at this year’s European Truck Racing Championships, which takes place in Nurburgring (Germany) on July 19. It will hold workshops with customers to gather feedback and conduct workshops for the next phase of development.
