Few companies can claim a similar legacy when it comes to supercar tuners.
It’s hard to improve on something as amazing as the Porsche 911. And it’s not like there aren’t many companies who would love to do so. 2017 marks the 30 th anniversary of Techart. This, in the worlds of tuners, roughly corresponds to elder status. Respect your elders.
Techart, a German company based in Leonberg, Germany started in Fellbach as a manufacturer of premium interiors for multiple vehicle brands. Techart also began to pay attention to Porsche when it released its first body kit for the Porsche 928 in 1987. The move to Leonberg was followed by the release of the aero kit for Porsche’s then-current 964-model 911.
Techart continued to produce great Porsches for street use. Techart sent a modified 911 around the Nurburgring Ring in 7:39 seconds. The company also got a Cayenne Turbo that can travel up to 200 mph on Porsche’s Nardo high-speed test track.
Techart is not showing any signs of abandoning its position as an older tuner. Techart currently offers products for many Porsche models, but the 911 is still its primary focus. Techart’s latest offering is the GTstreetR Cabriolet, a roofless 991-series car with 711 horsepower and sinister body lines. It also has a top speed over 200 mph.
We don’t always get the meaning of improvement and tuners. We are so content with Techart’s 30 year history (and encourage you to do that in the gallery below) and we can see how this company has stood the test.
